They will be placed in conversation with over eighty pieces from the M+ Collections by more than twenty Asian and Asian-diasporic artists from the early twentieth century to the present.Guo Pei: Fashioning Imagination (September 21, 2024 to April 6, 2025)In collaboration with Guo Pei and her studio, the exhibition showcases a selection of garments presented to regional audiences for the first time, fostering a layered dialogue with the M+ Collections on visual imagination and craftsmanship. By delving into the inspirations, techniques, and impacts behind the selected works, the exhibition helps us understand our own roles in processes of making and their relation to our daily lives Yang Jiechang: Hundred Layers of Ink Hundred Layers of Ink—Chine demain pour hier (1990) is the largest work in Yang Jiechang’s renowned Hundred Layers of Ink (1989–1999) series. Yang originally presented it in 1990 in the ruins of a church in Pourrières, France, as part of an installation that incorporated earth excavated from the cemetery outside.
